ABOUT OUR PROJECT

The work environment in Nova Scotia changed dramatically after Premier Stephen McNeil declared a state of emergency in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are interested in the work and health experiences of retail workers, long-term care workers, and teachers.

The surveys contain general questions about the work environment pre-COVID-19 and during the pandemic. We are also interested in how health and well-being has changed as a result of the pandemic. There are also questions that are specific to changes that have happened since the COVID-19 pandemic began. This research will help us capture how people are dealing with the changing nature of work while living through a pandemic and will offer insights on how policy can best respond to the needs of different groups of essential workers.

This research is funded by Acadia University.
